for my previous trip experience of Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra, its result of you
friends that I got motivated to bring my experience to visit Kerala, in this blog I
am going to write about the Magnificent Waterfall, Athirapally, my first stop in Kerala and what people are
saying on social networks about the fall.
Athirapilly the mighty Waterfall
I had a flight
from Mumbai to Cochin and I reached around 9 in night to Cochin Airport and my
Plan was to reach in night itself to Athirapilly and I had a resort booking in
Athirpillay for same date, there is an interesting story, I booked my Hotel
from Make My Trip because I had a coupon as most of the online sites for hotel
booking have and I got the resort in more than 55% discounted price and I got
in just Rs.500 But when I cross checked my booking with the resort owner he
said me that his resort is already booked for the date and he has no booking
with my name, I immediately contacted Make My Trip customer care and they felt
that they had made a mistake therefore in half an hour they called me back and
said that they have arranged another resort for me under same price and that
was Bethaniya Resort and it was of double rate in actual compare to my previous
booking and I got it in just 500.
I booked cab
from Airport and reached around 12 in night to Athirapally, it is around 70Kms
from Cochin Airport, after reaching in midnight Manager at Bethaniya warmly
welcomed me and arranged food for me as I was very much hungry and tired at
that point of time.
In morning when I got up, I was surprised, the scenery was awesome and wordless to express, the resort was situated at the side of river,
greenery was awesome,
I was very much excited and could not resisted me and soon moved for trekking to
the Fall, it was around 1 km from there, and when I saw the fall from a
distance my eyes were mesmerized, I had never seen such a beauty of nature, its
sound could be listened from there.
At entry level
there is an arrow to show the way to downside, the main view will come from
downside only, at upper side you can spent a quality time.

Where to Stay: There are many places to stay in Athirapally, specifically there are resorts and all resorts are at good location and have river & fall view, it is recomended to have prior booking as at the spot they may be costlier and all online sites such as Make My Trip, Yatra.com, Expedia, etc. give various offers on booking, so it is intelligent decision to search about the prevailing offers and book rooms in advance especially in season time .
